House Bill 143 has placed a huge priority on concussion awareness in youth sports throughout Ohio; there are many similar bills being implemented all
across the country. As a coach or parent participating in BWYAA programs, you are required to acknowlege review of the Center for Disease Control's paper covering this very important subject.
There are many other health topics to consider when participanting in any type of sport or athletic activity.
The BWYAA would like to thank our safety partner, Nationwide Children's Hospital Sports Medicine, for providing these current and informative links to help you and your family prepare for the upcoming season. The information below covers topics ranging from strength training to blisters and from diet to concussions. This information below is relevant to every Division within our football and cheerleading programs. We encourage you to take some time to check it out. For our Junior and Senior Division football parents, the concussion topic will be covered during our parent meeting scheduled during the week of Conditioning Camp. Nationwide Children's will be on hand to cover this topic and address any questions you may have.
