Cheerleading: Senior Division

Amanda Potter, Cheer Vice-President, is responsible for the operation of our Cheer Program. Amanda has been involved with the league since 2008 when her daughter began cheering in our Flag Division.

The Senior Division is made up of four (4) to six (6) 5th and 6th grade teams. Cheerleaders in this Division are in the 4th through 6th grades.

New Participants

New participants are assigned to squads based on age, uniform availability and existing squad sizes.

Returning Players

Returning participants are assigned to their team from the previous year.

The BWYAA provides a uniform for game day and the league is coordinating bow and spankie orders for the 2016 season. The uniform is returned at the end of the season.

Practices usually begin the fourth week in July and are anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half in duration twice a week. After school begins, some teams choose to practice once a week.

Concession Stand

ll families are required to work the concession stand on one day, one time each season, for one hour prior to or following your participant's game or performance.

If a team does not have full coverage during their assigned time, no game announcement will be provided for that team.

All games are played at JR Smith Park in Sunbury, Ohio. Regular season games begin the weekend after Labor Day for eight weeks. Game times fluctuate each weekend. Parking is congested during game transitions, especially from 12:00PM to 2:00PM.

The paved driveway from the Scoreboard around to the Concession Stand must remain clear in the event of an emergency. Games will be halted if this parking request is violated.

The 6th graders participate in a Tournament game at the end of the season. All of the 6th grade cheerleaders are invited to participate in this event.
